Overview
CoPilot Interview (“we,” “us”) provides desktop interview-preparation software and related services. This Policy describes how we handle information when you use our website, app, authentication, and checkout flows.
Information we collect
- Account data. If you sign up, we process email, name (if provided), and authentication identifiers through our auth provider (e.g. Supabase). Passwords are handled using industry-standard practices by that provider.
- Purchase data. Payments are processed by our payment partner (e.g. Stripe). We receive limited transaction metadata needed to fulfill your license (such as plan, customer email, and payment status)—not your full card number.
- Website & product analytics. We may use analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics / Ads tags) subject to their configuration, to understand traffic and conversions.
- Support. If you email us, we retain correspondence as needed to assist you.
How the app handles your interview content
Interview prompts, transcripts, and answers are primarily processed on your device and sent by the Software to third-party AI providers you enable under your plan so you can receive answers and feedback. Aligning with our product messaging, we do not operate the Software as a service that stores your full interview audio or transcripts on our servers for replay. If that architecture changes in a future version, we will update this Policy.
Browser extension (Chrome)
The CoPilot Interview browser extension captures the audio of the browser tab you choose (your interview) and, when you click Screenshot, an image of that tab. That audio/image is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing API and on to the AI providers listed below, solely to produce a live transcript and AI answers for you in real time. We do not store your interview audio, screenshots, or transcripts on our servers — audio is processed in short segments and discarded after transcription. The extension requests only the browser permissions needed for this (tab audio capture, the active tab, and the on-page overlay).
AI providers (subprocessors)
To transcribe audio and generate answers, the Software sends the necessary content to the AI provider(s) enabled for your plan, which currently may include Groq (speech-to-text and language models), OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini), xAI, and ElevenLabs (text-to-speech). Each processes the content to return results and is subject to its own terms and privacy policy. Payments are handled by Stripe and accounts/auth by Supabase.
Your responsibility — recording & consent
You are responsible for using the Software lawfully. Recording or transcribing a conversation may require the consent of other participants depending on your jurisdiction — some regions require all-party consent. By capturing audio that includes other people (such as an interviewer), you confirm you have any consent required by applicable law. The Software is provided for legitimate interview preparation and practice.
How we use information
- To provide, secure, and improve the Software and website
- To process purchases and deliver license keys
- To respond to support requests and legal obligations
Sharing
We share data with subprocessors as needed to run the product: authentication, hosting, payments, email, and AI APIs—only in line with providing the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
We retain account and transaction records as required for billing, tax, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Support emails are kept for a reasonable period. Analytics data is governed by the retention settings of those tools.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your choices
- Access or update account details through the in-product account flows where available.
- Contact support@copilotinterview.com for privacy requests (access, correction, deletion) subject to legal exceptions.
International users
If you access the Software from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where we or our vendors operate.
Children
The Software is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this Policy and will revise the date above. Material changes may be communicated through the website or product.
